Pure Tomato Ketch’up with Espelette Pepper

This tomato ketchup made with Espelette pepper whisks you a way on a journey to the south-west of France. With sun-ripened tomatoes and the region’s traditional red pepper, flavour is destination number one. Although the French still can’t agree on whether it’s “pain au chocolat” or “chocolatine”, one thing we can agree on is that this recipe showcases the best flavours of the south-west. As ketchup is a sweet condiment, we chose to elevate it with some spicy notes by adding Espelette pepper. Used in the perfect amount, it seasons the ketchup without overpowering it. It also offers many health benefits and is packed with vitamin C, B6 and K. It is even said to have antioxidant properties, so it’s good on the palate and good for the body!

Suggestions

There’s nothing like a good old barbecue to bring out the best of this delicately spiced ketchup. It can also be used to flavour vegetables, adding a nice sweet and spicy touch to stuffed courgettes. And why not try using it as a topping for some of your tapas dishes? This ketchup gives a whole new dimension of flavour to patatas bravas, thanks to its spicy kick !
